On the 22nd May Adam Beniston 4th Dan travelled to Rimini in Italy to compete in the IAKSA World Kickboxing Championships, he came away with 2 World Titles in his own weight class the 67kg and in the 86kg class, he also picked up a cluster of silver and bronze medals in other categories, and one of his young students picked up a World title in the Kids semi contact kickboxing. Well done on a fantastic achievement. This brings the ABMAA tally of World titles to 9 (from Ashfield Tigers and Cobra Freestyle).
We are in the process of having some new certificates made up by the nice people at Blockfoil Nottingham, they will have Goldfoil borders, and a Red foil ABMAA logo,
With the new A3 Black Belt certificates featuring a Gold Holographic border, and a Holographic Black Logo along with the official emmbosed company stamp and seals.
We hope you all like them, and that they will help to motivate you to pass your gradings, particularly the Black Belt, which we felt should be something special,
and something to treasure for years to come.
Will be on Sunday 28th August at East Coast Martial Arts Centre, in Mablethorpe, at the full time ECMA Dojo, which is very big, so lets hope it has plenty of support and is as succsesfull as the previous two comps.
Will be on Suday 26th June at the Kirkby Festival Hall Leisure Centre, and will be hosted by the Ashfield Dragons, door open at 1.15pm for registration, competition starts at 2pm.
The Inter-Club went great, lots of exciting fights, everyone enjoyed themselves, no injuries (will nothing serious), results are now on the Results page, and Pictures have been added to the Competition Pictures page, if anyone has any pictures of the Junior -130cm and Junior -150cm points winners please email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can upload them, (I was too busy refereeing the Light Continuouse at the time to take any pictures). Well Done everyone that took part, great effort and sportsmanship from everyone, made a great atmosphere. The next Inter-club will be in late June with the Ashfield Dragons, details to follow.

Well done to everyone that took part in the charity seminar, we had 45 students training, and managed to raise £350 for the Genesis Appeal for Breast Cancer, as well as having a really great training session. It was hard work at times, and everyone worked a good sweat up, but everyone really enjoyed it, and we all learned something. I have uploaded some pictures to the Gallery and will upload more soon, if anyone else has any pictures email them to me and I’ll add them, a report will be sent to the local paper on Monday.
One again THANKS to everyone.
The next squad training session will be at the Kang Han Combat & Martial Arts Academy in Hucknall on Thursday 31st March at 6.30pm
The address is 197 Beardall Street, Hucknall, NG15 7JU (corner of street of off Watnell road)
Well done to everyone who fought at the English Championships today, I was roped into judging the Forms section half the time so missed a lot of the action, leaving the coaching in the very capable hands of Master keeling, I’ll update with full results as I get them, but I believe we had 1 Gold from Callum Prince of ECMA in the advanced Light Continous, 1 Silver from Chris at ECMA in the Mens advanced Points, beating Tom Rankin into Bronze spot, and several other Bronze places including Callum Wright from Tigers, Liam Johnson from Cobra, and Will Harper and Corey Hill from Ashfield Dragons who both finished 3rd.
The next event will be our own Inter-Club Tournement on Sunday 8th May, at the Manor Sports Centre, Mansfield Woodhouse, a great chance to test the waters for anyone interested in competing, it will be aimed at beginners from Cobra Freestyle, Ashfield Tigers, East Coast Martial Arts and Ashfield JKD. Categories will include Points, Light Continous, Submission Grappling, and Kata/Forms.
